About Us
Where music meets medicine.
Resonance is a youth-led nonprofit that turns the power of music and culture into healthcare for those who need it most.

Our Story
How Resonance Began
My name is Yeju Shrestha, and I am a high school student from Northern Virginia. Growing up, I have always been passionate about music, dance, and culture. I began playing the violin at age five and later learned the cello, both of which have remained important parts of my life.
In 2024, my father brought home a Sarangi from Nepal. Traditionally played by the Gandharba people, the Sarangi was used to tell stories and preserve history through music. I was immediately drawn to its unique sound and the skill required to play it. Since then, I have performed the Sarangi at fundraisers, concerts, cultural events, and open mics, contributing more than 100 hours of community service through music.
Beyond music, I have always enjoyed serving others. Whether volunteering at animal shelters, participating in food drives, or supporting community events, I have found fulfillment in helping people and giving back. As someone who hopes to pursue a future in neuroscience and healthcare, I wanted to find a way to combine my passion for service with my love of music and culture.
That idea became Resonance.
Through Resonance, I organize concerts, cultural performances, and community events that showcase talented performers while raising funds to support healthcare initiatives in Nepal. My goal is not only to celebrate culture and bring communities together, but also to help make healthcare more accessible for those who need it.
I believe that when people come together through music, even small efforts can create meaningful change.
